JF & J2F Duck

As the first flying boat of the newly founded Grumman Corporation, the first XJF-1 made its maiden flight on 4 May 1933. The aircraft became known as the Duck, was crewed by a pilot, an observer and an optional radio operator and served as a utility transport onboard aircraft carriers and provided a ship-to-shore link for the Navy.
Until the end of WWII, 632 Ducks in different variants were built by Grumman and the Columbia Aircraft Corporation.
